Thermostats

What is a thermostat? Basically it is the component of a simple control system that opens or closes an electric circuit as a function of temperature. In the case of a thermostat for air conditioning, heating or cooling equipment it is a device that aims to maintain a certain temperature within certain ranges. In a home, for example, the thermostat can turn on the air conditioner when the ambient temperature rises is in a certain range that is considered hot.

How do HVAC equipment thermostats work?

There are two types of thermostats fundamentally, mechanical and digital. Digital thermostats are the most used in our days and the vast majority are programmable. This allows us to establish the desired temperatures according to the time of day, the days of the week or according to the season of the year, in addition to other parameters depending on the manufacturer. Digital thermostats use electronic sensors instead of physical sensors to control changes in temperature. When the electronic thermostat sensors register these quantities, they make the necessary changes by switching the systems off or on. It can be regulated manually and obtain an environment at a desired temperature by the person who will use it at any time.

Like any mechanical or electronic equipment, thermostats also need to be maintained in good condition, this is guaranteed by regular maintenance and/or revision.

Currently there are intelligent thermostats that can be connected to your WiFi network and can be controlled from our mobile devices thanks using iOS and Android apps. These apps allow us to manage the temperature of the house, show us weather data to be able to anticipate and activate the heat of the home or put the air conditioning on before we arrive.
